Bruce Galinat Lands Rally @ Guntersville Big Bass on Senko

Lake Guntersville, Alabama - Although "rally" is a general term, the word has a very specific usage when it comes to fishing and the Internet. You see, a rally in fishing web site terminology means a get-together for fisherpersons from across the nation. The really neat thing about the Internet is no matter where you reside, you are just one quick mouse-click away from your fellow anglers nationwide, indeed worldwide.

The Rally @ Guntersville "rules" posted on the bassfishinghomepage.com define the primary objective of a rally is to create an atmosphere of fellowship and camaraderie among fisherpersons who arrive at the rally from around the nation. Participants may have conversed with other anglers via the Internet and the Bass Fishing Home Page forum (in this rally's case). Internet amigos sometimes for many years. So a rally is a way for an Internet community forum's members to meet face-to-face and engage in their favorite pastime together. A rally allows everyone to connect faces with names and cement the many long time, cross-country friendships that began behind a keyboard. Low-competition fun fishing is planned to allow maximum opportunity for all participants to meet Internet friends and enjoy the fishing.

Steve Torok, a committee member who helped organize the rally says, "Russ, the Seventh Annual Rally at Guntersville 2003 is over until next year and thanks to you and Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits, among others, it was a huge success. Your sponsorship and samples of Yamamoto baits added to everyone's enjoyment. The weather was outstanding, fishing was great, and everyone had a great time.
