MY REMEMBRANCE OF BILLY WESTMORELAND - by Rich Zaleski

It's no secret we all shall pass away some day. When our
time arrives, we can only hope that our friends will honor
us by remembering us to other people.

Rich Zaleski has been covering and writing about bass
fishing since 1972. He shares his remembrance with us of the
best smallmouth angler ever, Billy Westmoreland, who passed
away just a few weeks ago in:

LOW WATER

There are low water launching conditions at Oroville. Mark
Mendez, president of Angler's Choice, has told me today (and
all along) that he is aware of the situation, and his
organization is committed to making sure that the Yamamoto
Open will be a good fun and successful event for all,
including launching. So make your plans to attend now. You
won't want to miss it! It's going to be great!

CATCH THE LIMELIGHT ON TV!

In addition to all the great fun and fishing, this is a
chance for you to catch the limelight! The Outdoor
Chronicles television crew will be there to cover the event.
David Masterson, executive producer and host of the show
says they will be "on the water" catching all the action on
Saturday. They will be in Northern California the week prior
to the event filming with GYCB staffers and guides "on the
hunt for trophy bass" on the fabled Delta, Clear Lake and
Oroville. The Outdoor Chronicles is a weekly television
series sponsored by Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits that airs on
numerous stations in the Gulf Coast but will go national
starting in January, 2003 on the Outdoor Channel, where you
just may be able to watch yourself at the Yamamoto Open on
TV!

So come one, come all to the Yamamoto Open at Oroville! It's
November 23, with registration and seminars November 22.

NEW PRODUCT RELEASE - BIG 7X CUT TAILS FOR KICKER BASS

Showing why he is widely regarded as the world's leading
soft plastic lure designer, Gary Yamamoto has just created
his own best competition to rival the Senko so far. While
others in the industry have tried to closely imitate the
Senko or build lures just like it, Gary Yamamoto has
leapfrogged ahead of the field again by building a totally
new design in the soft stick bait category, the 7X.

"The 7X is everything the 5 inch Senko is, same salt, same
formulation, same density. It weighs the same 3/8 ounce as
the Senko. Just like a Senko, the 7X casts well weightless,
and pitches and flips well, even on medium-heavy baitcasting
tackle," says Gary Yamamoto's fishing partner and B.A.S.S.
pro, Ben Matsubu.

"Senko lovers are going to love using the 7X," says Ben.

FIELD TEST RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT - 915 ELECTRIC BLUE SENKOS

To end the 2002 season, we've got a cold-brewed novel beauty
we welcome our Inside Line magazine readers to field test.

FIELD TEST RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT - 915 ELECTRIC BLUE SENKOS
http://www.insideline.net/900/nov-dec-02.htm

Designed to imitate a forage fish that has moved into deeper
water for the winter, the #915 field test color pattern
features electric blue plastic with blue, chartreuse and
hologram jewel metal flakes. Within the electric blue
plastic, there are blends of purplish and whitish overtones
that can be seen in the blue base.

So when your lips and toes turn blue while you are waiting
for a bite, let that remind you to field test some electric
blue #915 Senkos down deep...and let us know how your chilly
winter bass fishing research wraps up as we close the 2002
season.

(Editor's Note: Field test items are available to Inside
Line magazine subscribers for a limited time only.)
