| __________________________________________________ October 12, 2004 - Vol. 5 No. 26 __________________________________________________ FINALLY, A CLEAR CANDIDATE THIS FALL! I know you probably watch a lot of fishing shows. I hope you are a regular viewer of Fishing Across America on The Outdoor Channel. Host Dave Maynard fishes all over the world on his show and he uses Yamamoto baits wherever he can. "The quality and versatility of Yamamoto baits are second to none. I never leave home without them!" says Maynard. Dave is coming off an award-winning season, taking home the "Fan Favorite Fishing Show" award at The Outdoor Channel's Awards Ceremony last year. Winning "Fan Favorite Fishing Show" is the highest compliment because it is decided on by the viewers, says Maynard. Your vote can make a difference. Let's help Dave repeat this year by voting for Fishing Across America at this Outdoor Channel link: http://www.outdoorchannel.com/gmapoll/gmaindex.cfm Finally a clear candidate this fall! Good luck Dave and keep up the good work! __________________________________________________ READERS WRITE! It takes a lot of work to produce the WEEKLY NEWS for you every week (okay, almost every week) and it is always appreciated when readers write back. This letter just in from reader Ralph Celedon of Edinburg, Texas who says: "Russ, let me tell you what happened to me two weeks ago. I participated in our annual Texas state Honey Hole fishing championship. Our tournament was held on Lake Texoma. Using the only a bag I had of Yamamoto Kreature baits, my team partner and I were able to place 13th out of over 100 teams. What did us in was we ran out of the Kreatures so guess what? Our luck and the bite also stopped. We were eight ounces shy of placing in the money for two days. The Kreature is one awesome bait. Keep up the awesome work producing those Kreature baits." - Ralph Celedon, Edinburg, Texas __________________________________________________ NEW COLORS OF YAMAMOTO KREATURE The Yamamoto Kreature is now available in five new colors: 5-07-522 Body - Black w/blue flake / Skirt - Chartreuse 5-07-523 Body - Black w/blue flake / Skirt - Blue 5-07-031 Blue Pearl w/silver 5-07-157 Smoke w/black & purple flake 5-07-176 Cinnamon w/black flake __________________________________________________ TAKE A TACKLE TOUR As a new lure, not much press has been written yet about the Kreature. Enjoy reading one of the first reviews ever of the Kreature at: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewyamamotokreature.html According to Tackle Tour editor Alex Mei: "To say the Kreature performed well in field tests would be an understatement. This lure is phenomenal. With almost scary results the Kreature proved it has what it takes to compete with the wide assortment of creature baits already available. With quality design, spectacular action, and a proven brand name, the Kreature is the first and only soft plastic to win a TackleTour Editor's Choice Award." This may not sound so radical today, but it was revolutionary back in the mid-eighties when a whole new paradigm of light tackle angling, called finesse fishing, was being pioneered by tournament anglers in Southern California. Mojo's original thin Slipshot sinker was embraced as a new breakthrough for pioneering finesse anglers in the mid-eighties. Whereas round splitshot were being crimped on and could weaken the line, Mojo's new (at that time) Slipshot sinker used rubber strands to cushion the line. Whereas a round splitshot could snag constantly, the long thin Mojo shape would slide right through snags. By the mid-nineties, Southeastern pros had also begun to win tournaments with the Mojo Rig. The Southeast pros discovered a true treasure - the thin Mojo Slipshot was the best of all sinkers for snaking through thick weed growth with bubba baits and heavy line. What a breakthrough for fishing thick vegetation! In recent years, Mojo has continued to pioneer advanced snag-free sinker designs. With product distribution mostly in the southern California region, the rest of the country has not yet found out about Mojo's latest advancements in sinker designs. Each of these six Mojo sinker designs excel at a different application or different type of terrain: - Slipshot - Carolina Slider - Rockhopper - Rig Saver - Pineapple Down Shot - Drop Shot Dream Used together as a complete high performance system, there isn't any terrain you can't tackle. Designs like the Rockhopper work so well that you will hear much more about them in 2005 as Rockhopper usage sweeps across the country. Be among the first in your region to learn the full story why there is: NO TERRAIN YOU CAN'T TACKLE ~ by Russ Bassdozer http://www.bassdozer.com/articles/mojo.shtml __________________________________________________
